Wow, it's been one busy and quick week for us here! Seems like it was just the weekend and now we are headed into another one (not that I'm complaining ONE BIT!). We had revival services at our church (which we are now members of...YAY!) this past week from Sunday-Wednesday night. Pastor Alton Beal was our special speaker. He will be taking over as president of Ambassador Baptist College as of next month. We heard some great preaching and I know the Lord really convicted me of some things I need to work on. It's great to take some time out and get our focus back where it needs to be. Life can be such a whirlwind sometimes.
I said I would update more on Hannah's therapy. She had her evaluation this past Monday and they basically just came in and asked us a bunch of questions...like can she help getting her clothes on and off, how does she communicate when she wants something...questions like that. Some of them are harder to answer than you think, too! :) The lady was very impressed at how well Hannah was playing with her...she said her eye contact was very good and she just noticed that overall Hannah has so much potential...now we just need to get working on the speech and eating. We were supposed to go to Greenville (about an hour away) next month for an eating evaluation, but we talked with the therapist about that and she said they are basically going to tell us what we already know, so...we are just going to wait on that. We will get therapy started for the eating issues and if we need an eval for that later on we can always take her. We think it's best to wait for now. So, anyway...we will start therapy asap...just waiting for a phone call for one last meeting with the coordinator about insurance, etc. I'm definitely ready to get going again. Oh, I also just wanted to share that Hannah has started to say some words which I'm thrilled about!! She can say hi, out (when she wants to come out of the tub), bite (for another bite), ba-ba, pop (when we sing "pop goes the weasel", daddy, mama, all done, and a couple other things, but it's after midnight and my brain is basically shutting down, so...I'll share more of that later. But very exciting!! She's coming out of her shell little by little. :)
Savannah is doing great and talking up a storm. She is a little bossy pants, though...at 3 a.m. Hannah started whining and I heard Savannah yell, "Hannah! Kiet!" (which means quiet!) :) What a nerd. She loves to play princess and she loves everything girl - Mom's makeup, jewelry, painted toes. She is starting to be pretty high-maintenance. :)
Well...I better go now. My head is bobbing. Just got back from grocery shopping. What a day.
More to come. Happy Friday...and Happy May!! Can you believe it? Better start Christmas shopping, huh? It will be here before we know it...
