Tim Tebow...ever heard of him? You know, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback for the Florida Gators?? Honestly...Jeremy and I are not sports people, so I had no clue who he was until I read an article on the FOXnews website this morning.
There seems to be a lot of drama centering around an add for Focus on the Family that will be aired on CBS Super Bowl night. In it, Tim shares how his Mom (his parents were missionaries to the Philippines at the time) got a life-threatening infection while pregnant with him, and she was counseled to abort him. Doctors said she could die giving birth.
She chose life.
And now Tim & his parents are choosing to share their story to encourage other women in similar situations to choose life too.
Apparently Women's Media Center (a pro-choice group) is putting together a campaign in order to force CBS to pull the add before it airs. The group director said "This organization (Focus on the Family) is extremely intolerant and divisive and pushing an un-American agenda,". (So saving life is now "Un-American"???? Really???)
Pray people! Women out there need to hear this message.
You know the thing I think is the most SAD about this story is that Tim Tebow is a REAL hero. This is the kind of guy that we should tell our kids to look up to and to want to BE LIKE...(not Tiger Woods!!!) But istead, people will call him a stupid, intolerant, CRAZY "Bible believer" who just doesn't UNDERSTAND the times, and promotes violence against the people who perform abortions.
So backwards isn't it?
