Update

I feel like when I update I'm always saying, "Well...ever since "this" or "that" life has been SO crazy...", but I've been thinking it's kind of ridiculous to say that because life is ALWAYS crazy. There really isn't a normal or boring day around here! :) At least lately.

Hannah has started therapy (only occupational) and we will meet her speech therapist on Thursday morning. She (Candy is her name) kind of took her time getting things rolling with me...and part of the problem was that she went on vacation the week after we came back, so that complicated things a tad. She seems really sweet on the phone so I'm excited about meeting her. :) Lisa is our occupational therapist and she seems to work well with Hannah. It's kind of an adjustment for me though. I got so used to Sasha and really felt like we became friends over the period of time she was working with Hannah. It's just different this time around and it feels so "professional"...if that makes sense? Not that it's bad. Things are good...just different. Lisa is very impressed with how well Hannah is doing in many areas, so I'm very happy.

Like I mentioned yesterday - Savannah is working on potty training. She decided to try it yesterday and thought it was the coolest thing ever! She tells me she's a big girl now. :) How true! Today she did great again...even went #2 for the first time on the potty, but she did ask me to put a diaper on her a few times. I am just going with it because I don't want her to feel like she HAS to go on the potty. I'm afraid if I get pushy she will shut down, so I'm just letting her go at her own pace. The evening time is usually when she wants a diaper on. Maybe she's tired from thinking about it all day? :) Who knows? She went several times on the potty today though, so I am very proud of her and I really think she'll be done with diapers (except for nap & bedtime, obviously) very soon. Hannah sat on the potty a couple times, but she's still not ready. Today that is. Sometimes they surprise you with how quickly they make up their minds about things. I'm just so thankful that so far this whole potty training thing has been a piece of cake. Savannah is a pretty self-sufficient kid, though. Hannah may be more difficult but I have heard some bad stories! Just thankful it's going so well. :)

Jeremy is busy with work as usual, and also with church. He started singing in the choir this past week (I'm hoping to join choir also, but I've just been so sick the last couple weeks I missed Sunday) and he also plays the piano every now and then. This past Sunday they had a picnic lunch after the service and the guys stayed after that to play some basketball. I think Jeremy had a really great time hanging out with the guys. He hasn't really had a whole lot of good friends since we got married. It's tough when all your co-workers just drink for fun. I'm so thankful the Lord brought us to a wonderful church with people our own age to make friendships with. We are super grateful for them already. :)

Like I mentioned before, I've been sick with bronchitis since we got back from vacation. Vacations are so fun, but when you're exposed to different pollens, and lots of germs (mainly at rest stops!) you're bound to pick up something! This was the case with me, unfortunately. I am doing MUCH better now but it was a hard week to get through.

I wanted to ask prayer about a job opportunity for me that's come up. Nothing is for sure yet (so I won't give specifics just yet) and there are a lot of kinks to work out, but it looks very promising. Jeremy and I have been praying hard that the Lord would provide money for a second car for us since we've moved. This would be such an answer to that prayer. I will give more info about everything probably tomorrow. I might know more specifics by then. Please just pray along with us. It would also be so wonderful to have the van to take the girls to the library, the park, playgroup...I have a million ideas! Please just pray for the Lord's will. It is amazing to me to see how God blesses us when our priorities are where they should be.
I'll let you know more soon! :)

Well, that's a pretty thorough update I would say!! Hope everyone is well and enjoying the rain? I actually like it...and I am LOVING all the thunderstorms lately! Fun, fun, fun. :)

Here's a video of how we keep our kids occupied when it's raining. Those girls sure do have a fun Daddy. :)

  1. I'll be praying for this job opportunity and your second vehicle!

My friend bought this book and I think it's titled "Potty training in a day" or something like that, you might want to google it. But it worked! You just have to devote one whole day to staying at home but it definitely worked and her daughter was potty trained in one day!!
